If You Say So, I Will Obey
Push Out into Deep Water
1-3Once when he was standing on the shore of Lake Gennesaret, the crowd was pushing in on him to better hear the Word of God. He noticed two boats tied up. The fishermen had just left them and were out scrubbing their nets. He climbed into the boat that was Simon's and asked him to put out a little from the shore. Sitting there, using the boat for a pulpit, he taught the crowd.
4When he finished teaching, he said to Simon, "Push out into deep water and let your nets out for a catch."
5-7Simon said, "Master, we've been fishing hard all night and haven't caught even a minnow. But if you say so, I'll let out the nets." It was no sooner said than done—a huge haul of fish, straining the nets past capacity. They waved to their partners in the other boat to come help them. They filled both boats, nearly swamping them with the catch.
How are you handling GOD's WORD? Are we like the people James wrote about in James 1:21-25 where people love hearing the WORD but are not able to apply what they have heard. People who have seen themselves in the mirror but after that they forget how they look like.
We hear God's WORD every Sunday. We're moved and encouraged with the Word of GOD. But when Monday comes, we can't even find our Bibles?
Here Peter obeyed and did what God had told him to do. This is even if he had already "worked hard". He said "If You Say So, I Will Do It", in another translation it would say "At Your Word, I will obey".
What happens after that was miraculous that their nets almost broke out for the large amount of catch!
Now that's amazing! When we learn to obey God's WORD, much success and miraculous prosperity is surely coming our way!
So how is your Bible Reading lately? What have you been doing to apply what GOD had taught you to do?
Time to check again...
God Bless you!

Mary: a Blessed Mother | Happy Mother's Day
"...And a sword will pierce your own soul too."
Reflection:
The statement above was told to Mary, the mother of Jesus by Simeon after blessing Jesus in the temple. Read the full account in Luke 2:21-40.
From the start up to this point, Mary just closed her mouth as a sign of her full submission and faith in God's will.
Even up to the point when Jesus was sentenced to death. She remained silent. When everyone was mocking her son, she remained silent. When rulers sneered at Jesus saying, "He saved others, let him save himself", she remained silent. When he was offered vinegar to drink, she didn't say a word. When Jesus, her son was catching his breath on the cross. She sitting near the cross, didn't say a word.Surely, all these have pierced the mother's heart of Mary but she remained silent.
Why? Because she allowed God to do what God wanted to DO. Her son was not ordinary. His son is God and his son came to die for the world. She knew this even from the start. So even though it hurts her so much as a mother, she chose to forego of her own will and chose to lift up God's will. How many times did we give up because we're already starting to feel pain? How many times have we given up on God when we started to struggle? How many times did we choose to do our will assuming God will just understand?
May we all be like Mary. May we all be like her in each and every circumstance, crossroad and decision in our lives. May we just be silent and allow God to do his will in our lives. May we just forget what we feel for once and allow God to just do his purposes IN us, through US and FOR us.

Forsaking all for Christ

"So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple."
To Follow Jesus is not a minor or a light decision that a person can do. It’s forsaking your ALL and making HIM your ALL. It is carrying your cross. It is dying to yourself and living through the life he had given. Let’s read the preceding verses:
God is a jealous God [Exodus 20:5] and He deserves to be the #1 in your life!
There was a young rich ruler who went up to Jesus and asked what it takes to inherit eternal life. He asked what more he can do when he faithfully obeys all the commandments. To this Jesus looked at him and loved him, said “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.” [Mark 10:21]And the young ruler went away sorrowful for he had great possessions.
A lot of us are like this Young Man. We can easily confess and announce that we follow Jesus but we turn back and went away when things start to be demanding, when it starts to change our lifestyle, when it starts to prevent us from doing what we love to do and when it tries to invade our lives. Remember, when Jesus is not Lord of all, he’s not Lord at all.
Christian life is not a happy-go-lucky life! It takes one to sacrifice. It takes one to change. It takes one to forsake his ALL! Let go and yes LET GOD!
I would like to also recommend for you to read Sacrificing for your Enemies by Provocative Christian Living.
God bless you as you continue to follow him!
