Why Am I Not Blessed Yet?
A lot of us get disappointed when our prayers are unanswered.
A lot of us get discouraged when things aren't going the way we want it!
A lot of us then ask, "Where is God when I needed Him most?"
Can you relate? I can.
A lot of times, I asked, "Why Am I Not Blessed Yet?"
The Bible as always has the answer!
James wrote,
2You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. 3When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. [James 4:2-3]
The issue is not whether God wants to bless us or not. In fact, God wants to bless us. That's already a given fact! [Gen. 12:3]
The question we should ask ourselves is "Why are we asking for the things we're asking?"
James clearly said, "we don't receive what we ask because we ask with wrong motives."
"
In Deut. 8:18,
Deuteronomy 8:18 (New King James Version)
18 “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
Are we so good in asking for anything and when we receive it, do we immediately forget what the blessings are for?
In Deut. 8:18, the Word of the Lord says "He will give us POWER to get wealth!" Did he say for you to go and spend it for your selfish desires? No! He didn't. Instead he said, "That HE can ESTABLISH his covenant!"
Are we glorifying GOD with what we have now? Are we even giving our tithes faithfully? Are we even generous enough to share to the needy and hungry?
Some few things to check before asking today!
And MAY GOD SO RICHLY BLESS YOU!

Luke 5:1-6 (The Message)
Push Out into Deep Water
1-3Once when he was standing on the shore of Lake Gennesaret, the crowd was pushing in on him to better hear the Word of God. He noticed two boats tied up. The fishermen had just left them and were out scrubbing their nets. He climbed into the boat that was Simon's and asked him to put out a little from the shore. Sitting there, using the boat for a pulpit, he taught the crowd.
4When he finished teaching, he said to Simon, "Push out into deep water and let your nets out for a catch."
5-7Simon said, "Master, we've been fishing hard all night and haven't caught even a minnow. But if you say so, I'll let out the nets." It was no sooner said than done—a huge haul of fish, straining the nets past capacity. They waved to their partners in the other boat to come help them. They filled both boats, nearly swamping them with the catch.
How are you handling GOD's WORD? Are we like the people James wrote about in James 1:21-25 where people love hearing the WORD but are not able to apply what they have heard. People who have seen themselves in the mirror but after that they forget how they look like.
We hear God's WORD every Sunday. We're moved and encouraged with the Word of GOD. But when Monday comes, we can't even find our Bibles?
Here Peter obeyed and did what God had told him to do. This is even if he had already "worked hard". He said "If You Say So, I Will Do It", in another translation it would say "At Your Word, I will obey".
What happens after that was miraculous that their nets almost broke out for the large amount of catch!
Now that's amazing! When we learn to obey God's WORD, much success and miraculous prosperity is surely coming our way!
So how is your Bible Reading lately? What have you been doing to apply what GOD had taught you to do?
Time to check again...
God Bless you!

Prayer Requests
Matthew 18:19-20 19"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
As you all may know, any of you can send me Prayer Requests through my email add at yourdailyword@gmail.com with a subject line: PRAYER REQUEST.
Truly enough, a lot of people from different places have sent in their Prayer Requests and how glad I am to pray for each one. I in fact send the prayer requests to our intercessory team from our church so more people will pray and intercede. I'm still waiting though for testimonies of answered prayers. I'm sure a lot will come as well.
For now, here's my request for each one of you. Let's all intercede and say a little prayer for the following people. These people have sent their requests and isn't it blessed to pray for somebody whom you don't even know and who can be in the other side of the world right now? SO if you're with me, continue reading some prayer requests my readers have sent me and pray for them.
1. "innu"

3. "WS"
Please pray for my husband to find a job sooner.

4. "Thomas"
Hi,
I'm sure you get a lot of prayer requests so I will try to keep this as short as possible.
A year and a half ago a friend and I started TexLa Software, L.L.C., a software company committed to Horizontal Directional Drilling software. We came up with our first product, the H D Pro Calc. and have worked on it intensely over the last year. We have received some very good feedback on it from a contractor who is helping us with the design but we have yet to sell a copy. My partner and I both had full time jobs when we started the company and done everything at our own costs. In January my partner lost his job and decided to commit all of his time to the company to complete the project so that we could finally get some sales. Well, it's been six months. I am about to lose my job and because of drastic cuts in our hours I can't pay my bills. We are in a downward spiral right now. Our last true hope at the moment is that Christ will finally bring our company up and help us to produce some sort of cash flow.
All in all, I typed into google the phrase "is god the key to success" and came across your blog and I saw that you take prayer request and I would like for you to pray for our business and our financial situations. I am personally at my wits end and don't know how much longer we will be able to hold on.
Thank you very much for your prayer,
Thomas
5. "Felix"
Hi to you brother,
Good day to you and I hope you are in a good condition upon reading this email. I'm here to ask you for a prayer request for my success in blogging business. I hope that the Lord will hear our prayers for the success of His children
6. "Sarah"
just found your blog through Sharon Faith and would like to ask for prayer. I have just finished writing my story, In the Eye of Deception and now seeking to publish.. Can you pray that God will lead me to the right publisher. I know He will. I believe He led me to write. I also need courage to move forward with this and be able to speak about what happened. Thank you. Sarah
May you all lift up these prayer requests of our brothers and sisters. My God Bless in what you do.
P.S.
The names are kept confidential.

God's Timing is Everything
Background: At work, an email came informing all Team Leads that there will be a Coach Swap this coming October. It means a Coach (which we call Team Lead in the Call Center) will be sent to the US (specifically to Reno, Nevada) to handle a team for one of the clients and in turn a coach from the client will work here in the Philippines. This is amazing and a great opportunity for me as all expenses will be shouldered by the company and the whole "swapping" thing will last for 6 weeks and it will be the first time for me to travel to the US. Just last week, it has been formally announced that it's my friend aL who have been chosen to go. Funny but he's called the "chosen one". ( don't know with my managers) lol!
What has this taught me?
Before that though, please know that I have prayed for this. I have asked my Pastor and the intercessory ministry, the whole church and my family to pray for it. I had an expectant heart. I had been declaring and claiming all the promises of the Lord for me as HIS child and apple of His eye. But still I wasn't chosen.
A lot of times, our prayers in the Lord aren't answered the way we want it to. This is so like the story of David. When Nathan had rebuked him for his sin against Uriah and Nathan prophesied:
Nathan replied, "The LORD has taken away your sin. You are not going to die. 14 But because by doing this you have made the enemies of the LORD show utter contempt, the son born to you will die." [2 Sam. 12:13-14]
And then the story continued...
15 After Nathan had gone home, the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife had borne to David, and he became ill. 16 David pleaded with God for the child. He fasted and went into his house and spent the nights lying on the ground. 17 The elders of his household stood beside him to get him up from the ground, but he refused, and he would not eat any food with them. [2 Sam. 12:15-17]
And we all know the son still died.
Back to the question, "What has this situation taught me?"
God's Timing is Everything
- Here's what I am believing: I will still be sent to the US but not now. Maybe I will not be sent at all. It doesn't matter: I WILL STILL Trust in GOD. It maybe the greatest opportunity out there but GOD doesn't follow man's timelines, He has HIS own seasons and plans and there's no way we can dictate Him. Whether HE chose to send me or not, HE remains to be GOD. Nothing can change that fact and I WILL STILL WORSHIP HIM.
In the Bible, there are two GREEK WORDs that refer to TIME: "chronos" and "kairos". Chronos is the time that you expect to really happen (e.g. Summer or Payday on the 15th and 30th, I believe is not the Kairos time for me. And I trust in GOD even more.
Here's what David did after he learned of his son's death:
20 Then David got up from the ground. After he had washed, put on lotions and changed his clothes, he went into the house of the LORD and worshiped. Then he went to his own house, and at his request they served him food, and he ate.[2 Sam. 12:20]
Now that's what I'm talking about. That's a clear show and demonstration of TRUST on God's Timing and "ALL-Knowing" nature. I trust HIM that God knows what he's doing.
How many times do we get disappointed with every prayer unanswered?
How many times did we get hurt when things weren't going the way we have "fervently" praying for?
Let's check again. Let's have the same TRUST and FAITH David had. Let's trust and believe that God's Timing "KAIROS" is all that matters. and Yes, He was neither too early nor late but just on time all the time!
Praise the Lord!

I Will Go Where You Want Me To Go
This is in connection to my last devotion about Tweeting the Gospel: Spread God's Word.
In this post, I'll bring the devotion a little deeper.
The verse above brings it to a more personal level. Yes, we are to spread the gospel. We are to tell the people the GOOD NEWS. I'm sure we are able to easily do this when nothing is at stake. We can easily obey when no compromise from our end is necessary or needed.
But here's the question:
Will you still Go and Make Disciples when you are asked to actually DENY yourself?
...when you're asked to say no to the usual stuff we have been so used to doing?
...when you're asked to let go of that cigarette stick and that bottle of beer?
...when you're asked to consider other's interest above your own?
...when you're asked to even resign from your Job and let go of something very important according to God's will?
...when you're asked to let go even your very own family?
Now that's the real story.
Christian life is not easy. It takes commitment and perseverance. It takes a 180 degrees turn from the usual life you've lived to the life God has given you to live. It takes you to forget even your own desires and wants to obey God's WILL!
Yes, it's radical. But just as Christ has carried the cross, we are to also carry the same cross in order for us to follow him.
How have you been following Jesus your Lord? Do you opt to follow HIM the easy way (own way), or the better way God had set for us to follow?
Here's a video from Hillsong United which will reinforce the topic at hand. I included the lyrics for better "absorption".
My prayer is for you to be blessed with it and for you to be challenged even more to obey Him in any and every way possible.
I WILL GO by Hillsong United Video, Lyrics
I have found myself in You, the purpose for my life
I discover who I am, as Your spirit touches mine
Every step I take, every move I make
You are by my side
And I will be strong, my strength is in you
I will go where You want me to go
I will do what You want me to do
Yes I will go where You want me to go
I will be who You want me to be
Anything for You
When You ask me I will go
You show the way before me
In Your word I find the truth
You lead me on this journey
Those who trust in you, ever praising You
Will find their strength renewd
I'm gonna make itm, make it happen

Spread God's Word, Tweet the Gospel
Acts 1:8 (New International Version)
8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
We are not ordinary people.
I am not just a blogger.
You are not just a common worker.
We are not just a passer-by in this earth.
We are to be witnesses in Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.
Praise the Lord with the rise of media, internet and technology, this "ends of the earth" goal is just but a click away!
The other day, I bumped into this post I just can't remember where =(, where a person tapped on any and every available resource he has just to spread the gospel and in so doing obey God. Blog, Facebook, Forums, MySpace, Youtube and Twitter.
As you all possibly know, this site aims to do just that as well (Praise the Lord!).
But have you heard of Twitter? Of Course! Just an FYI, Twitter is the fastest growing social networking site in the planet today that politicians, celebrities, bloggers and normal people are now using it for various purposes (business, friendship, love, etc.). I even have one: @YourDailyWord. Twitter though only gives us 140 characters per tweet so one must learn to really concise what one wants to say.
Now here's the challenge: if you have a twitter account, can you share the gospel in 140 characters?
To make it more exciting, I'd like to ask you to add #YDW for me to search for your tweets easily so I can compile them in a future post. I'm sorry but that would then just give you 136 characters. But that's why it's called a challenge, right?
Leave your tweet gospel in the comment below and I'll search it in twitter as well.
I am confident that through this, we can reach and share the gospel in more people than we can possibly can. May God be glorified and may HIS love be forever be praised!
God Bless you as you obey HIM!

Search Me And Know My Heart
Yesterday was an AMAZING Sunday for me.
First,I'm the preacher. And to be honest, it's just so hard. Not because I don't know how to speak and not because I don't have any material to use. I mean I can just easily search for a Sermon online and study it. But No, I desire to preach and speak the "fresh" word of GOD that comes from the mouth of God. As God's Word would say:
Matthew 4:4 (New International Version)
4Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"
Second, I am one of the teachers for the English Tutorial in our Church. This activity aims to make every member in the Church "excellent" in their speech and writing using the Internationally Accepted English language. I handle the English Grammar while my partner handles Oral Communication.
Lastly, we did some General Cleaning in the Church. This brings me to our reflection for today.
I learned a lot of things while cleaning. Let me share 4 of them.
1.) We don't notice how dirty the place is until you start cleaning.
>> Honestly, I got used to how the Church looked like. I mean I thought it was just okay. I wasn't bothered by it or anything. But yes, when we started cleaning, I and the rest of the group was really surprised how dirty with all the dust and cobwebs. tsk tsk tsk...
2.) Only few people really are willing to help.
>> We invited everyone to help in cleaning the church and only very few showed up.
3.) Cleaning is necessary
>> No need to explain further.
4.) Lastly, it takes effort.
>> It's tiring. You all get wet. You all get dirty. You all get messy. In fact, while writing this my back really hurts. I really don't know why I was doing. (this isn't sign of old age, alright?)
What can we learn from this?
I realize that our lives need cleaning as well. Cleaning from hurts, anger, bitterness, envy, sexual immorality and all other things that contaminate our bodies, minds and spirit.
1.) True, we seldom notice it. We can easily live normal lives even though we know we haven't forgiven somebody yet. Even though we have lied to one person the other day. It's so easy for us to just forget about it and pretend nothing happened. Pretend that we actually chose to keep rather than share and give. Pretend that we failed to share the gospel to our family and friends even though we know God has called us to do so. Let's ask God to look into our hearts and purify us from everything that doesn't glorify Him.
2.) Very few people do this. Why? It hurts. It changes your lifestyle. It contradicts to what you have been used. It BREAKS you. But let's take this time to ask God to give us courage to obey him and be cleaned for His glory. Let's be one of the few.
3.) As we always hear, "If the Lord is not the Lord of ALL, he's not the Lord at ALL." If there's anything in us that doesn't glorify HIM, that can be a hindrance to the fulfillment of God's plan for our lives.
4.) It takes us to persevere and endure. Remember we may be broken down but let's just continue to trust in our Lord knowing that HE knows what He's doing. Be assured also, that in this process you are not left alone. Jesus, our Lord will be there for us and interceding for us. All this for us to continually grow from glory to glory until He comes back to get us.

Psalm 139:23-24 (New International Version)
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
