“But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.
My feet have closely followed his steps;
I have kept to his way without turning aside.”
Job 23:10-11(New International Version)
Now this is AMAZING! A lot of us complain and get discouraged when persecutions and trials come. When there are problems, we cry out and panic. Just like the disciples when they were on a boat during a storm. But at the end of the day, we see that God allows these things to refine us and to make us the people he designed us to be.
Gold is not as beautiful as it is if it did not go through fire. The same principle applies! Just like Job, the testings and trials made him into GOLD! If he chose to surrender he could have stayed rusty and worthless but because he endured (kept closely and obeyed God), he's now as priceless and expensive as Gold.
Here's a promise we can hold on to: He knows the way we take. He knows the way we're taking, the road we're turning, the street we're passing, the life we're living, the struggles we're going through, the pain we're enduring. He knows! And He's as if saying, "Hold on...soon you'll see it will turn out for good."
