Take a look at the picture? What do you see?
Some see an old woman while others would see a young woman. I can now see the two of them but at first I only saw the young woman. This is normal. It doesn’t mean you need to be very intelligent for you to see the two of them. There are just differences on how we see things. Different perspective or maybe sometimes we choose (yes!) not to see other things.
In our lives, sometimes we choose to close our eyes on a lot of things that God wants us to see. He wants us to see the hungry and the sick around us and to call us to pray. He wants us to see the lost and for us to start “going” and making disciples. He wants us to see what’s happening around us for us to stand in the truth and for us to stand up to defend it. He wants us to see how glorious and how almighty He is that there’s no reason for us to lose hope and fail to trust.
Instead of doing this we oftentimes choose to open our eyes to things that are not of God’s will. We sometimes open our eyes to the new culture this world is showing us (e.g. Abortion, Sex, Drugs, and a lot more that the world is making us believe “NORMAL”). We also open our eyes to prostitution, homosexuality and pornography and even to doing illegal things or stepping on other people or using other people to succeed.
God wants us to see things through his own eyes for us to start seeing the lost sheep that need to be rescued ASAP. God wants us to see His power to solve our problems. God wants us to open our eyes to His WILL and for us to fix our eyes on Him alone.
Just like Job, let’s put a covenant with our eyes not to see things lustfully for our eyes (Job 31:1) not to look at things that aren’t beneficial to us and for them to be fixed permanently to God.(Heb. 12:1-2)
They say our eyes are the window to our souls. If your friends, family or just anybody would look at your eyes, what do you think they would see? If you yourself look at your own eyes, what do you think you would see? What if GOD looks at you, will he be pleased with what He will see?
